What is the Live Canvas Experience?

Marked By’s Live Canvas Experience is a hands on, paint flinging, foot stomping, sponge squeezing, ball throwing experience customized by YOU! The end result is an incredible abstract work of art on raw canvas that your family can display proudly in your home.

Everything about these canvases is custom! Custom colors. Custom sizes. And a custom experience of messy memories that will last a lifetime!

Perfect for older children, the Live Canvas allows for creative expression to flow in this un-edited, kinisthetic experience.

Starting with a real blank canvas, we facilitate the most fun and productive painting day! Your final product is then stretched, delivered and ready to be hung.

We help guide your family with techniques and colors to create artwork that you will love!

How It Works

Pick your preference

What’s your vibe? Send us some inspiration so we know how to best facilitate your painting experience. Do you like harsh brush strokes? Bold colors? Earth tones? Splats and swirls? We want to help bring your dreams to life and your our inner artist out!

Paint and play

Welcome to the fun part! We provide all necessary materials, you provide the artists! We come to your home with your blank canvas, paints, and endless materials to play, paint, experiment and of course, have fun!

Pick your spot

When your unstretched canvas is complete, we will look at it together and choose the exact spot to frame. Your artwork will then be hand stretched onto custom built stretchers and prepared to be displayed.

Admire your work

Within about 2 weeks time your artwork will be delivered ready to be hung in your home. Your family will have this one of a kind masterpiece to admire forever!

You’ve got questions.. We’ve got answers!

  • We recommend that there is at least one child over the age of 4 for this experience.

  • We like to set aside a block of 3 hours* to create each piece. While it typically takes less time, we never want to rush your masterpiece.

    *We will not be painting for the entire duration of the session. In between paint layers we will set the canvas out to dry for 20-30 minute increments - the perfect amount of time to play, have a snack or simply take a break!

  • The Live Canvas experience takes place at any outdoor spot of your choosing in the NY Metro area. Paint does get on the grass. We do put large cloths down however it really is inevitable. Keep this in mind when picking a spot.

  • You will receive your canvas about 2 weeks after the painting session.

  • Well that depends on the demeanor of your family! The paints are “washable” but a very high quality washable, aka they don’t always come out. Please make sure you are wearing clothing that can get messy/potentially stained.
